Modelling of SOFC/SOEC

overpotential distributions in a SOFC

We developed mathematical models for Solid Oxide Fuel Cells and Electrolyzers (SOFC/SOEC), which allow us to evaluate the effect of various parameters on the performance of the cells without resorting to physical modifications of a prototype.

We can simulate both the polarization curve and the impedance spectrum, and we can use them to regress unknown parameters (such as kinetic constants) for cells built with unorthodox materials, for example perovskite-based MIECs.

The simulated impedance spectrum allows to evaluate the effect of the phenomena occurring within the cell without resorting to equivalent circuits models.
