Flame-Assisted Synthesis of Catalysts

Flame Spray Pyrolysis

We developed a technique to synthesize perovskite-based catalysts by injecting aqueous precursors directly into a flame. The use of aqueous solutions is a green alternative to traditional flame spray pyrolysis, which utilizes organic, flammable solvents.

This method produces very fine particles, and removes the need for a successive calcination. This in turn allows to integrate the deposition of particles over a monolithic support into the production process.

These catalysts can be used for a variety of chemical reactions, including the treatment of exhaust gases in the automotive industry.
