Atmospheric plasma transformes the properties of your materials

Atmospheric pressure plasma is an ionized gas at a pressure of about 1[atm]. for that reason these plasmas can be employed directly in production lines of industries.
In our laboratory we can take advantages of AC (Alternate Current) excitation. The operating principles of these plasmas are: CD (Coronoa Discharge), DBD (Dielectric Barrier Discharge) and PDD (Piezoelctric Direct Discharge).
We have experience with how to use plasma, and more specifically plasma jets for Surface Functionalization, in other words how to activate specific surface properties.
A typical application is the cleaning of plastic and metal surfaces to prepare them for adhesive bonding and painting.  Nowadays due to research and development surface modification achieved by atmospheric plasma jets is comparable to the effects obtained with more expensive low-pressure plasma.

ACTIVATION OF SURFACES WITH ATMOHSPERIC PLASMAS

Atmosphric pressure plasma is characterized by the generation of free radicals in gas phase such as O2 (Oxygen),,NOX (Nitrogen Oxydes), O3 (Ozone) and other oxidizing agents.
Industrial processes may take advantages of these mechanisms to modify the surface properties of materials. We apply that technology in cleaning, painting, bonding,and disinfecting and and we had the opportunity to verify several benefits:

3) Electricity energy consumption reduction
4) High environmental impact chemicals
5) Quality of the final prodcut increase

PREPARATION OF SURFACES FOR BONDING IN THE FOOTWEAR SECTOR

Atmospheric pressure plasma air based was used to eliminate the primer-based chemical treatment process of soles in plastic materials (TPU, ABS).

COLOUR FADING OF DENIM WITH ATMOSPERIC PRESSURE PLASMA JET USING AIR

Application of air plasma jet was studied for the materials of testile industry (jeans). Regulation of temperature of remote plasma was used to apply high energy treatment on thermo-sensitive materials like denim fabric. Air plasma jet with adjusted plasma temperature permitted to realize effective colour fading of denim without heat damaging of denim fabric
