In honor of the International Year of Glass, The American Ceramic Society’s (ACerS) Glass and Optical Materials Division (GOMD) are holding a glass demonstration competition to showcase the beautiful complexity of glass science and glass art. The top three awardees will each receive a cash prize, plaque, conference registration, and recognition at GOMD 2022.
The Glorious Glass Demo competition involves creating a short 3 to 5 minute video showing the general public something interesting and fun about glass science and/or glass art. While the idea for the demonstration must center around glass science or glass art, in what way that it accomplishes this is up to you! Check the website for the submission form!
Awards
In addition, each of the top three awardees will receive an International Year of Glass plaque of recognition, reimbursement of the conference registration fee, and each will be recognized at the GOMD 2022 conference banquet to be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2022.
Who is eligible to participate
All students enrolled in undergraduate or graduate (MS and PhD) studies during the academic year of 2021-2022. ACerS membership and GOMD 2022 registration are not required.
