Antonino Di Bella elected President of the UNI/TC002 “Acoustics and Vibrations” commission

Antonino Di Bella, Professor of Applied Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer, Applied Acoustics, and a member of the BETALAB Research Group at the University of Padua, has been elected President of the UNI/TC002 “Acoustics and Vibrations” technical commission.
The commission, established within the Italian Standardisation Body (UNI), is responsible for defining technical standards in the fields of environmental, building, and industrial acoustics, as well as mechanical vibration and its implications for human well-being and health.
The UNI/TC002 commission represents a fundamental point of reference for technical standardisation in areas ranging from the acoustic design of buildings and workplaces to environmental protection from noise and vibrations. The regulatory activity is carried out in close coordination with European directives and international standardisation bodies (CEN, ISO), ensuring constant updating and the implementation of best practices at a global level.
The appointment of Antonino Di Bella marks a further step towards strengthening the link between the academic world and the regulatory system. Technical standards, in fact, represent one of the main tools for technology transfer between universities, research institutions and companies, promoting innovation, quality and safety of products and production processes. In particular, the academic presence in technical commissions enables the most advanced results of scientific and technological research to be brought to the regulatory table, contributing to the sector’s progress and sustainability.
Antonino Di Bella’s commitment will focus on promoting greater participation from the world of research and technical professions in regulatory activities, with the goal of fostering a harmonious and shared development of applied knowledge.
