CORE-WOOD Research Project

Innovating for Sustainable Comfort and Resource Efficiency

CORE-WOOD Research Project

The CORE-WOOD research project aims to address a crucial strategic issue for the wood supply chain in the construction industry: its competitive repositioning in a changed international context.
The current competitive environment is characterized by high pressure from transalpine competitors, making it urgent to fill significant competitive gaps.

To achieve this goal, the project jointly addresses several research topics, mainly focusing on some key factors.

In-depth analyses of the supply chain reveal a strong interconnection between strategic, organizational and distribution issues on the one hand, and technological and production aspects on the other. This complexity requires a systemic approach to identify genuinely effective and impactful integrated solutions.

The proposed interventions have been designed to ensure secure replicability and are highly likely to trigger a positive domino effect in the sector.

This approach aims to provide holistic and sustainable solutions to improve the competitiveness of the supply chain as a whole.

The Veneto Region funded the project through the call for proposals that contribute to implementing the POR-FESR 2014-2020 – RIR – Dgr 1139/2017 AXIS 1 “RESEARCH, TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT AND INNOVATION” ACTION 1.1.4 “Support for collaborative R&D activities for the development of new sustainable technologies, new products and services”.

The project was coordinated by FORESTA ORO VENETO – Consorzio Progetto Legno Veneto, in cooperation with VENETO GREEN CLUSTER, Veneto Clima Energia, EUTEKNOS, and University of Padua with the Departments DBC, DICEA and DII.
