Visit at Lyondell Basell site in Ferrara

Yesterday the students of the Chemical Industrial Process II course of the last year of the master degree in Chemical & Industrial Processes degree had the chance to visit the Ferrara site of Lyondell Basell (LYB), one of the largest plastic, chemicals and refining companies in the world.

The LYB Ferrara site has a long and glorious history in the polyolefines industry and continues to focus its actvity into this tradition of innovation. Approximately 800 employees work at the site which comprises three components: the Giulio Natta Research Center, with pilot plant and laboratories, catalyst production facilities and polymer manufacturing operations.

The polypropylene produced in Ferrara is employed for many applications ranging from food packaging to medical products and automotive interiors, just to name a few of them.

Actually LYB sells products in over 100 countries all over the world and it’s the main world licensor of polyolefins technologies.

We would like to thank LYB and especially Ing. Roberta Pica , Dr. Ugo Visentini and Dr. Valentina Magnoni to give us this opportunity
