  • Multistructured membranes based on nanofiber and nanoparticles

Membership and Appointment

He is a member of the PhD committee and he has supervised several PhD thesis. He has been the president of Italian section of SPE (Society of Plastics Engineers) in the period 2012-2018 and he is actually member of the board; he is a member of AIDIC (Associazione Italiana di Ingegneria Chimica) and GRICU (Gruppo Ingegneria Chimica dell’università), where he was national secretary in the years 2005-2006. He was involved in a research cooperation programme with Poland, funded by Italian Foreign Office, in the years 1998-2003; during this cooperation several common papers were published and several conferences were lectured at technical university of Cracow. He was visiting professor at UCLA University (Los Angeles California) where he began a collaboration with Prof. Y. Cohen. He is collaborating with Prof. Ulbricht Mathias, belonging to Institut für Technische Chemie II, University of Essen, Germany on membranes for micro- and nano-filtration. A collaboration with Prof. Seeram Ramakrishna, Dean, NUS Faculty of Engineering, National University of Singapore, on nanofibers via electrospinning was also established in 2007. During the academic year 2008-2009 he has been the director of a master course in Science and Technology of Polymeric Materials. He is reviewer of Polymer Engineering and Science, Polymer Degradation and Stability, European Polymer Journal, Journal of Polymer Engineering, Cellular Polymers and journal of Membrane Science and Materials Chemistry and Physics. Prof. Modesti is author of more than 100 works, including publications and speeches for conferences (about a half on international scientific journals with referees).
