{"id":634,"date":"2019-11-13T12:28:26","date_gmt":"2019-11-13T11:28:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/research.dii.unipd.it\/tes\/?p=634"},"modified":"2020-11-05T09:54:03","modified_gmt":"2020-11-05T08:54:03","slug":"workshop-on-hybrid-energy-and-energy-storage-systems","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/research.dii.unipd.it\/tes\/2019\/11\/13\/workshop-on-hybrid-energy-and-energy-storage-systems\/","title":{"rendered":"Joint EERA \u2013 SmiLES Workshop on Hybrid Energy and Energy Storage Systems"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Rome (IT), 07-08 November 2019<\/h3>\n<p>Last week the Joint EERA \u2013 SmiLES Workshop on Hybrid Energy and Energy Storage Systems was held in Rome. <a href=\"https:\/\/research.dii.unipd.it\/tes\/people\/\">Prof. Giovanna Cavazzini<\/a> of the TES research group organized the workshop in collaboration with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.itas.kit.edu\/english\/staff_baumann_manuel.php\">Manuel Baumann<\/a> (KIT), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sintef.no\/en\/all-employees\/employee\/?empid=648\">Atle Harby<\/a> (SINTEF) and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.itae.cnr.it\/it\/staff\/ferraro\/\">Marco Ferraro<\/a> (CNR) within the framework of the <a href=\"https:\/\/eera-es.eu\/\">EERA Joint Program on Energy Storage<\/a>. The workshop was hosted by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gse.it\/en\">GSE<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The main objective of the workshop was to better define and understand the sustainability implications (techno-economics and environmental impacts) of conventional and Hybrid Energy and Energy Storage Systems in terms of materials used, system design, their hybridization, and finally system optimization. <strong>97 researchers<\/strong> <strong>from all Europe<\/strong> discussed together on several topics related to the different aspects of the sustainability of hybrid systems.<\/p>\n<p>In order to strengthen and expand the outcome of the meeting and to improve networking, a session of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecria-smiles.eu\/\">SmILES<\/a>&nbsp;project and the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eera-set.eu\/eera-joint-programmes-jps\/list-of-jps\/advanced-materials-and-processes-for-energy-application-ampea\/\">EERA JP AMPEA<\/a> was hosted in the workshop.
