{"id":417,"date":"2019-10-12T18:45:30","date_gmt":"2019-10-12T16:45:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/research.dii.unipd.it\/kinnlab\/?page_id=417"},"modified":"2019-10-22T17:13:11","modified_gmt":"2019-10-22T15:13:11","slug":"degradation-of-organic-solids","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/research.dii.unipd.it\/kinnlab\/degradation-of-organic-solids\/","title":{"rendered":"Degradation of Organic Solids"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In order to characterize the thermal and reactive behavior of biomasses for the optimization of degradation processes of organic solids, we designed and built an experimental setup, called MacroTGA.<\/p>\n<p>T<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-534\" src=\"https:\/\/research.dii.unipd.it\/kinnlab\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2019\/10\/Degradation.png\" alt=\"MacroTGA for the degradation of organic solids\" width=\"432\" height=\"255\" srcset=\"https:\/\/research.dii.unipd.it\/kinnlab\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2019\/10\/Degradation.png 512w, https:\/\/research.dii.unipd.it\/kinnlab\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2019\/10\/Degradation-300x177.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 432px) 100vw, 432px\" \/>his device allows to evaluate the weight variations (i.e., conversion) during the heating of the material, controlling the heating policy and the composition of the gases contacting the material.<\/p>\n<p>This technique allows for the use of much larger quantities of material compared to a standard TGA, which is particularly important when evaluating the degradation of heterogeneous samples, such as those coming from industrial realities.
