FLUMS group is active in several fields of fluid mechanics:
The main interest is in the modeling and simulations of complex flow behaviors for environmental, industrial and aerospace applications.
Turbulent flows: theory and modeling
We study for understanding turbulent flow physics in order to develop original models for turbulent flows in compressible and incompressible regimes and complex geometries.
Multiphase flows
We are working on the evaporation behaviours of inertial droplets dispersed in turbulent spray conditions using both high-fidelity simulation and low-order modelling approaches.
Fluid-strucure interaction
Solid bodies embedded in the fluid domain are currently studied by simulating their interaction with the turbulent flow. Fractures and crack propagation caused by fluid forces on the structure are analysed applying advanced numerical methods (e.g. peridynamics).
