Measurements that once took time and resources can now be captured <strong>continuously and at low cost<\/strong>, generating massive amounts of data (\u201c<strong>big data<\/strong>\u201d) in <strong>real time<\/strong>.\r\n\r\nThis data revolution has accelerated the use of <strong>data-driven models<\/strong> in manufacturing. Among these, <strong>machine learning<\/strong> and <strong>multivariate statistical techniques<\/strong> stand out for their ability to turn complex data \u2014 whether real-time or historical \u2014 into <strong>clear, actionable insights<\/strong> on <strong>process performance<\/strong> and <strong>product quality<\/strong>.\r\n\r\nAt <strong>CAPE-Lab<\/strong>, we help companies unlock the full potential of their process data. Our research focuses on using advanced analytics to support critical engineering and production activities, including:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Designing and <strong>optimizing products and processes<\/strong><\/li>\r\n \t<li>Understanding and <strong>troubleshooting process operations<\/strong><\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Monitoring process and product quality<\/strong> in real time<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Improving <strong>process control <\/strong>and efficiency<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Formulating new products<\/strong>, and<strong> protecting products<\/strong> from fraud and counterfeiting<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\nUsing <strong>statistical process control<\/strong> and <strong>data-driven modeling<\/strong>, we identify and anticipate process deviations before they lead to failures, diagnose their root causes, and ensure <strong>consistent, high-quality output<\/strong>. This approach translates into <strong>fewer production interruptions<\/strong>, <strong>reduced waste<\/strong>, and <strong>more reliable product performance<\/strong>.\r\n\r\nOur methods also streamline <strong>product and process transfer<\/strong> across <strong>different scales, plants, or sites<\/strong>, ensuring smoother scale-up and technology transfer.
