From the response of the sample to thermal stress, it is possible to deduce important kinetic parameters and those related to the intrinsic safety of the reactive mechanism and any fugitive reactions that could occur.<br>\nFor the modeling activity, the group has special computational suites including software for estimating the effects induced by explosions, fires and releases of chemical substances (DNV Phast, TNO Effects) as well as packages for conducting fluid dynamics and chemical investigations on systems even complex.<\/p>\n\n          <\/div>\n      <\/div>\n  <\/div>\n<\/div><div data-label=\"Content\" data-id=\"content--1\" data-export-id=\"content-7\" data-category=\"content\" class=\"content-7 content-section content-section-spacing\" id=\"content-1\"><div class=\"gridContainer\"> <div class=\"row middle-sm\"><div class=\"col-sm-6 space-bottom-xs\" data-type=\"column\"> <h2 class=\"\">Thermal Screening Unit \u2013 TSU<\/h2> <p class=\"\">Thermal screening of substances and reaction mixtures is a major constituent of chemical hazard assessment, both for the identification of process conditions under which a thermal explosion can occur, and for the definition of several safety parameters as Self Accelerating Decomposition Temperature (SADT), heat of reaction, and kinetics parameters for the decomposition reaction more in general.<\/p> <\/div> <div class=\"col-sm-6\" data-type=\"column\"> <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"shadow-large\" src=\"https:\/\/research.dii.unipd.it\/analisirischio\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2023\/02\/cropped-cropped-TSU-1.png\" title=\"cropped-cropped-TSU-1.png\" alt=\"\"><\/div> <\/div><\/div> <\/div><div data-label=\"Content\" data-id=\"content--2\" data-export-id=\"content-8\" data-category=\"content\" class=\"content-8 content-section content-section-spacing\" id=\"content-2\"><div class=\"gridContainer\"> <div class=\"row middle-sm\"><div class=\"col-sm-6 space-bottom-xs space-top-xs\" data-type=\"column\"> <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"shadow-large\" src=\"https:\/\/research.dii.unipd.it\/analisirischio\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2023\/02\/Immagine.png\" title=\"Immagine\" alt=\"\"><\/div> <div class=\"col-sm-6\" data-type=\"column\"><h2 class=\"\">Calorimetric reactor<\/h2> <p class=\"\">Reaction calorimetry is a method for development, scale-up, optimization, and safety studies in conducting a chemical process.
